Photoshop Battle Artwork by Dave Seipp

Photoshop Battle Artwork by Dave Seipp This is a scaled down version from a recent photoshop image I created for a photoshop battle at Flash Kit, where I moderate on the Design and Graphics Forum.

The sets used in this piece of artwork are metal Plate, Grunge Crack Brushes and concrete photoshop brushes.

The Arena forum is full of excellent artwork from members of Flash Kit, well worth a look round if you are looking for inspiration.

Also if you like skull imagery it might be worth looking at the new Skull Brushes sets.

For those who don't know what a photoshop battle is:

Two designers agree on canvas sizes and rules, then one designer will create an image usually in photoshop and post it for the other designer to add to or alter (usually keeping some part of the previous design) The second design is then posted for the first designers response.

Stock photographs are often used in battles along with some great fonts, quite often photoshop battles will develop a theme or story line as they progress, and some as well as being well designed can be quite comical.

This also goes under the name of Photoshop Tennis.

Photoshop battles are good for getting designers to practice working on different themes and developing new ideas and for me it gives me freedom to create work that's not controlled by a client. Its also good for getting young designers used to finding stock photographs and relevant image libraries.
